When Completely Country spoke to Lauren Alaina back in March, her single “Road Less Traveled” was sitting pretty at #5 on the charts and after years of hard work, she couldn’t quite believe couldn’t she finally had a top 5 hit under her belt.
Fast forward a few weeks later and with what seemed like every fan, fellow artists and music industry folks rooting for her Lauren officially landed her first #1 radio hit with “Road Less Traveled” on both the Billboard and MediaBase country airplay charts.
“I cannot believe I have the number one song in the country,” shares an ecstatic Lauren. “I have dreamed of this day my entire life. The five singles, the ups and downs, the tears, the smiles, and the six years of hard work have made this moment so much sweeter. I am so thankful to everyone who helped me get to this point. Regardless of my future, I get to live the rest of my life saying I have written a number one song. Life made.
Written with Jesse Frasure and Meghan Trainor, Lauren delivers an important and empowering message of self-acceptance in the triumphant anthem. Lauren has been an inspiration to countless men and women of all ages with her relatability, vulnerability and openness of her lyrics.
“Road Less Traveled” is the title track of her sophomore studio album and after recently finishing the CMT Next Women of Country Tour with Martina McBride, Lauren is gearing up to hit the road this Summer with Luke Bryan for select dates on his Huntin’, Fishin’ and Lovin’ Every Day tour.
